A Presentation of Learning (POL) is a tradition for 8th, 10th, and 12th graders, where students create a 20-30 minute presentation highlighting their growth over the past two to three years. These presentations focus on personal and creative achievements, not just academics, helping the audience understand the student's development.
The POL serves as a rite of passage into the next phase of a student’s academic journey. Students develop a portfolio with evidence of their growth and work closely with a teacher to prepare and refine their presentation.
On presentation day, each student presents to a panel of 3-6 people, which may include peers, teachers, parents, and community members. Afterward, the panel asks questions, and the Crew leader assesses the presentation against rubric requirements. POLs are impactful because they encourage students to reflect on their identity, learning, and future direction.
