Elementary Program

Polaris' elementary program is a choice school within Poudre School District serving students in grades K – 5.  Through the national model of Expeditionary Learning (EL) we strive to nurture our students’ unique abilities so that they can grow to their fullest potential.  The following structures are unique to Polaris elementary:

  • Curriculum that is focus on inquiry-based learning 
  • Offering multiple off-campus fieldwork experiences throughout the year 
  • Capping our elementary classes at 18 
  • Providing students three recesses per day 
  • School-wide community meetings each week 
  • Multi-age classrooms in grades 2 - 5 
  • Looping at the Kindergarten / 1st grade level
  • Implementing the Expeditionary Learning Model 
  • Authentic homework assignments

School Days Start Time (M - Fri):   8:15AM  (students can be dropped off at 8:00)

School End Times (M, Tu, Th, F):  3:15PM              

Early Release Wednesdays:  12:45 Dismissal
