We Are Crew, Not Passengers!

Core Practices

Our core practices focus on five key areas of school life:

  1. Real World Curriculum: We connect learning to real-world issues through rigorous, project-based learning, fieldwork, and service projects. This ensures students engage with authentic audiences and prepares them for college and beyond.
  2. Invigorating Instruction: Classrooms foster discovery, inquiry, and collaboration, with students taking ownership of their learning. Teachers create purposeful lessons and use strategies to engage all students and maintain high expectations.
  3. Respectful Culture: Our schools promote respect, responsibility, and kindness, where students and adults are committed to quality work and citizenship. Structures like crew, exhibitions, and service learning ensure every student is known and valued.
  4. Assessing Student Learning: We emphasize student-engaged assessment to build ownership and drive achievement. Students regularly reflect on their work, set goals, and improve through feedback and support. Teachers use data analysis to ensure equity and continual growth.
  5. Leadership: Our leaders create a shared vision focused on student success and continuous improvement. Leadership is a collective responsibility, with everyone working together to create a culture of trust, collaboration, and achievement.
