About Me

My name is Mary Pereira and I love being a teacher at Polaris! I grew up in Lake Bluff, Illinois and moved to Colorado in 2016. I graduated from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame with a degree in Elementary Education and Biology. My teaching journey began at a small school near Chicago for two years, there after joining PSD in 2016 as a middle school science teacher.  I was lucky enough to join the Polaris team in 2022 as the 6th grade math/science teacher, and this year I will be jumping into the Elementary world as the 4th/5th teacher! When I am not teaching, you might find me doing something outside like hiking or paddleboarding. I also love seeing live music, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends and my dog, Spruce!
