About Me

What inspired you to get into the field of education?:

When I was a little girl, I used to play "school" with my 3 siblings and I loved it so much I decided to be a REAL teacher when I grew up.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?:

I am in awe of my students and their unique personalities, opinions, and ideas. It is rewarding to make memories in and outside of the French classroom as we learn and laugh (so much!) together.

General background information (years in education, degree(s), Universities/Colleges attended):

B.A. English - Brigham Young University, 1995

French Education/Colorado Teaching License - Colorado State University, 2017

After being a stay home mom with my 4 kids, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching license in French - a language I had the pleasure of learning and speaking growing up overseas. I have worked for PSD since 2010 as a French substitute teacher, a French teacher, a French student teacher (yes - in that bizarre order!) and finally in my dream position as a French teacher at Polaris ELS.

Interests/Hobbies:

My favorite thing in the world is hanging out with my husband, Jon, and our fantastic kids Jonny, Nick, Natalie, and Jackie. I also love to read mysteries, play movie soundtracks on the piano, hike in the winter (no snakes), SUP in the 'tooth, socialize with friends, listen to comedy podcasts, and snowshoe. I also like to play golf - but only 4 holes.

Thought Provoking Quote:

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

My Classroom

About My Classroom:
