About Me

What inspired you to get into the field of education?:

Every day, there are students who come to school carrying with them incredible challenges that can make navigating successfully through our constantly changing, pressure filled educational system seem overwhelming and even at times, hopeless.  Because of this, I was drawn to the school counseling profession and I love working as a team with teachers and other school staff to empower students to learn and grow.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?:

I thrive on making strong connections with my students and I firmly believe that student success is directly correlated to having positive relationships with teachers, counselors, and other adults at school.  I love the fact that I am one of the only school counselors in Poudre School District who gets to plan and carry out adventure trips and intensive activities with students. It is during these trips when I learn the most about my students, we develop mutual trust and respect for eachother, and most importantly, we have tons of FUN!
