About Me
What inspired you to get into the field of education?:

I know math gets a bad wrap sometimes, so I wanted to bring a different approach to it.  Anyone can do math and I want to help people see that.  Plus, I want to have a positive impact on my students and help them pursue the lives they want to have.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?:

My students are the most rewarding part of teaching.  I love building relationships and watching students grow as learners.  Every day is different and I can thank the students for that.

General background information (years in education, degree(s), Universities/Colleges attended):

Pomona High School - 2000

B.A. Computer Science/Mathematics - Regis University - 2004

M. Ed. Secondary Mathematics - CU (Denver) - 2008

Interests/Hobbies:

I also like skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, building things, running races, and putting puzzles back together...  If it's outside in Colorado with my family: I'm sold.

Thought Provoking Quote:

"Use the force to destroy the ring, Harry" ~ James Kirk (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom the Crystal Skull)

About My Classroom:

I am a firm believer in students owning their choices.  I allow students to forge their own path.  I want to create learners that are prepared for what happens after Polaris and I feel I would be doing them a disservice by preventing them from making their own choices and experiencing the results for themselves...whether it's good or bad.  A person needs to have the want to learn; it cannot be forced.
