Since I was a kid, I was always the one who was there to listen to and support friends through good times and bad. As a high school student, I became a peer counselor and took a job helping individuals with disabilities in the community. I've always found it so rewarding to help individuals discover themselves and realize their potential, and I'm lucky to get to do that on a daily basis as a School Counselor at Polaris.
The best part of my job is knowing that I've made a difference in someone's life. I love it when I can be a part of the breakthrough, or "ah ha" moment. I love watching students succeed and feel proud of their accomplishments.
I attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and received my degree in Psychology, with a minor in Communication. The mountains were calling my name, so I moved west to Fort Collins and attended Colorado State University. I received my Masters degree in Counseling and Career Development. I was hired on at Polaris in 2009 and knew right away that I found my home away from home.
I love spending time in the great outdoors hiking, biking, skiing/snowboarding, camping, swimming, paddle boarding, gardening, and hanging in the sun with my family and friends. Music has been and always will be a huge part of my life. You may find me playing my washboard on stage with the band Blue Grama, learning to play the mandolin, or having extreme dance parties with my kids.
"So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you."
