About Me
What inspired you to get into the field of education?:

I come from a family of teachers so you could say it was in my blood.  But what inspires me on a daily basis are my students and the fine group of educators with whom I get to work and learn.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?:

By far, the most rewarding part of my job is watching students grow, learn, and discover all sorts of things including themselves.  In particular, I enjoy working with seniors as they transition to the world beyond high school.

General background information (years in education, degree(s), Universities/Colleges attended):

Bachelor of Arts:University of Texas/ Master of Landscape Architecture:University of Virginia/ Master of Education:Colorado State University
I began teaching at Pioneer School for Expeditionary Learning School in 2002 and continued on with Polaris Expeditionary Learning School into the present.

I like to read, garden, hike, camp, knit, listen to podcasts, watch movies and binge on Netflix series. I also have a secret fondness for German Shorthair Pointers, taking naps and really good dark chocolate.

Thought Provoking Quote:

“The only Commandment I ever obeyed — 'Consider the Lilies.”  Emily Dickinson
