I worked teaching swimming lessons in high school and lead me to want to work with students. Working for BASE camp through college only solidified my decision to be in the teaching profession. Students are still the inspiration for continuing my education journey.
Working with students is by far the most rewarding part of teaching and is what brought me to the profession. Talking to students about the current news, what books they are reading, thinking deeply through how content shapes their lives, learning about each other, and sharing stories are all that makes teaching the profession I choose.
My name is Aaron Wiesner and I teach 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies! I graduated from Colorado State University and have been teaching ever since! I have been teaching for five years, am currently working through my master’s degree in educational leadership, and have been working with students since high school.
When I am not teaching, I love climbing and hiking and play in several volleyball leagues around town. I love watching football and root for the Colorado home teams, but have a particular love for football and, of course, the Broncos.

My classroom is an open and safe environment for all students. The classroom gives students the responsibility and responds to the freedoms students demonstrate they can handle. Last year's class was able to have hot chocolate each Friday, journeyed to local coffee shops to read, and chose where they wanted to work throughout the class for solo work time. The class is fun, but rigorous.
